The El Chorro region, shared between 3 of Malagas municipalities of Valle de Abdalajis, Alora and Ardales, offers some of the most varied and dramatic landscapes of anywhere in Europe. A long time favorite with dedicated rock climbers the world over, it also offers many delights to the seasoned walker. With 3 national parks within easy reach, it makes an ideal base for a spring or autumn active holiday break.
The region is home to the infamous
"Camino Del Rey", or the Kings Road, a crumbling pathway hanging precariously from the sides of the Garganta
(The Throat) Gorge. Though not for the faint hearted, its an unforgettable experience to traverse the camino, under the experienced guidance of
expert climbers. A steady foot and a good head for heights are a must for this adventure.
El Torcal natural park is a protected area of unique limestone rock formations. It is home to an array of flora and fauna that are unique to this area. You can see expansive limestone beds, similar to those found in the Burren region of Ireland.
Desfiladero de los Gaitanes natural park provides some of the best walks in the region. From gentle forest tracks, to more demanding shist strewn slopes, our itineraries
allow you to plan exactly the type of holiday you want.

LetsTrekSpain, we offer a variety of packages to suit every interest and budget. In this region,we offer 2 basic holiday styles, walking holiday or Walking/Climbing
combined. Simply choose the climbing option on day 3 to create the holiday that best suits you.
In El Chorro we offer 3 levels of accommodation:
Type A: Basic hostel standard, either shared dorms, single room, or twin ensuite. The complex offers only basic facilities, but rooms are to a good standard.
Plenty of common space for large groups. Close to climbing areas. Climber and walker friendly.
Type B: Self contained private villa for groups of between 4 and 8 people. Set in a fantatic location, this complex of 8 villas of differing styles
blends harmoniously into its surroundings. Each villa has a private pool and terrce for dining, and the complex boasts its own bar and restaurant serving a
varied menu of local specialities.
Type C: 3 star hotel, set in the centre of El Chorro, this hotel oozes charm and history. Twin and double rooms with ensuite, pool, nice garden terrace for
dining. Ideal for those looking for a bit of luxury to unwind after your day in the mountains.
